What’s Startup Wekend and How does it work

Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds, the other half have business backgrounds.
Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product.
On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of entrepreneur, expert and investor.

BATTLE of 2 Cities

It is just like a regular 54 hours startup weekend event, except it is planned together among 2 cities and the teams from both cities will battle out and pitch in English.
The entire event will be live streamed. The top team will be selected and be awarded including free trip to Japan to pitch at one of the biggest startup demo in Japan.
This is first time that the local organizers from both country work together to build an international and culture exchange experience.

Why are we doing a joint event

Startup Weekend, it is the global community. However, having global perspective is difficult for Japanese and Taiwanese attendees, they are living in island countries.
This joint event, it is possible to have a global perspective in mind through that attendees of both countries meet together from the beginning of the event it.
